+  - Member must complete and submit to the office the Air Conditioner Rules Acknowledgement form for the current year the air conditioner unit is to be installed and used. (This must be completed each year **before** installation.)
+  - Only air conditioner units designated and marketed for home window installation and use will be permitted. Window air conditioner units must be in good working order and not altered in any manner from the original (less any maintenance, repairs, or filter replacements).
+  - No alteration to any Old Town In Town exterior or interior building surface or window surfaces are permitted to allow installation of a window air conditioner unit.
+  - The air conditioner unit must fit the selected window and be installed correctly to manufacturer’s directions and/or the direction of Old Town’s property management representative.
+    - A proper installation kit should be used to seat and seal the air conditioner unit in the window space.
+    - Other materials such as blankets, rags, clothing, etc. may not be used to seal air conditioner unit in window.
+    - It may be necessary to use a mount in the window sill so that air conditioner unit clears outer storm window.
+  - Air conditioner window units must tilt the appropriate degrees down and outward so that water condensation runs away from the building. (see **Figure 1**)
+    - Members may be required to take measures to divert dripping condensation away from buildings, window sills, and the air conditioner units of members on lower floors.
+  - The air conditioner unit must plug directly into the nearest electrical outlet for the chosen window. No extension cords are permitted. (This is an electrical fire hazard.)
